ABOUT ME
Sam Madesi is a veteran adult and peace educator/facilitator in North America, Asia and Africa. He has based his experiences to strongly believe that adult education and peace education are inextricably intertwined in community development approaches and processes. Quality education is the key to nurturing talent, which is crucial for the development of the society. My goal is to nurture future generations to become citizens who are socially responsible and equipped with a sense of national identity, Patriotic and international perspectives.
About Me
1983-1999
Beginning
Originally from Kabale, Uganda, I am an Educator/ Facilitator of Adult Education Community Development, Peace education and Immigration Acculturation at Calgary University, located in western Canada. Prior to that, I was a University Junior Lecturer in the Prestigious University of Makerere, Kampala faculty of Humanities and Sociology. I moved to Canada in 2003, after spending the previous fourteen years at Calgary University. I received my PhD from the Department of Adult education and have engaged in quite a number of research works since 2008, where my main advisor was Sung Bae Park, a specialist in Adult Education.
2000-2014
Early Formative Years/ Research
My main field of research is Adult Education and Peace Education, but I am also a student of the broader area of East Asian philosophy and sociology During graduate school and the first few years after finishing my doctorate, I worked primarily with Prof Dorothy Lander, concentrating on the works of Professor B. Allan Quigley
Adult Education Consultant .For more than a decade starting from 2008, my work focused on the writings of the Peace and adult education (617–686). This constituted a journey that ended up leading me deeply into the study of Adult Education and Community development. During 2010–2015, my main project was an investigation in Adult development as a point of departure, entering into related approaches found in Western epistemology, psychology, political and cognitive science. In connection with this, I also investigated the meaning and role of good faith in Human lives. I have recently returned to working on a topic that I was working on earlier in my career: the origins, permutations, and applications of the adult education paradigm in the three traditions of human sociology, psychology, and Daoism. But also during this time, I have been translating and publishing many other works. [For those who are interested, a longer autobiographical essay is available as part of Human Nature Generations of development of humanity Studies Project]
